We are looking for a motivated, passionate and talented individual to join our team. This individual is responsible for ensuring Joslin's website and social media presence is active and engaged.


The Digital Content Manager (Website & Digital Brand) will develop and oversee website redesign, brand refresh and social/digital content for Joslin Diabetes Center.


This position will work with the Senior Director of Public Relations to develop digital strategy, and will be responsible for undertaking a full website redesign and brand initiative including researching vendors, developing RFPs, organizing and conducting meetings with leadership and personnel to develop content and managing digital vendors.


This position will also oversee the development of compelling content to be used across all channels including website, social media, blogs, emails, info-graphics, digital advertising and e-newsletters.


  • Audit existing web content and create a comprehensive plan for future content.
  • Collaborate with Senior Director of Public Relations, Joslin leaders, physicians and other key stakeholders to develop and update content for the Center’s websites.
  • Ensure all web content utilizes best practices for web writing and meets all content-related goals.
  • Manage search engine optimization by conducting keyword research, link-building, improving existing web content, creating new web content as needed, and measuring organic traffic.
  • Develop and build content marketing initiatives to support key campaigns.
  • Manage editorial calendar and contribute content for social media, blogs and internal and external newsletters.
  • Develop content for online advertising including paid social, paid search and display.
  • Apply and analyze web metrics for optimization of website and measuring performance of ongoing campaigns and programs.
  • Maintain positive, professional attitude toward special requests/projects.
  • Demonstrate willingness to take on additional responsibilities.
  • Respond to requests in a timely, organized, and efficient manner.
  • Provide regular reports on the status of project completion.
  • Represent the organization effectively with external groups.


  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, digital marketing, communications, journalism or related field
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in digital marketing including developing digital content strategy and writing for the web and other digital channels
  • Project-manage website redesigns
  • Coordinate with clients, account management, technical development/integration and creative teams to ensure efficacy and quality of work. Experience managing digital brand and website vendors.
  • Significant experience writing and editing copy for the web. 
  • Thorough knowledge of SEO best practices as it relates to keywords and content. 
  • Advanced verbal and written communication skills and the ability to present effectively to small and large groups. 
  • Experience using web content management systems to produce and publish content. 
  • Experience writing for and managing editorial for social media channels including blogs, Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn and YouTube.
  • Experience using marketing tools to execute, plan, and measure content campaigns. 
  • Experience developing and executing inbound marketing campaigns. 
  • High tolerance for complex, ambiguous and changing environment. 
  • Experience with branding, website redesign and content marketing, associated design and marketing software platforms and all social media tools is required. Luminate experience desired, but not required.
