  • Overview

    The Accounting Manager, General Ledger (Financial Services) is responsible for managing the general accounting function.

    Reporting to the Controller and overseeing 2 Accounting staff, you will oversee the monthly close of the general ledger and preparation of financial statements.  You will also evaluate and make appropriate improvements to internal accounting processes ensuring that practices are in line with the overall goals of the organization.



    • Responsible for providing financial reporting and accounting information; will support many ad hoc reporting requests, analysis, special projects, etc. as received from management. Review monthly financial reporting package for accuracy. 
    • Ensure timely and accurate completion of monthly closing process - Review journal entries and related source documents for accuracy prior to posting to the GL. Research and escalate GL system problems to appropriate support group. Work with staff to resolve any issues concerning journal entries and provide guidance to the supported businesses on entries that may be needed. 
    • Account reconciliations – Ensure all accounts are reconciled monthly. Review reconciliations and provide resolution for reconciling items. 
    • Productivity and professional expertise - Research any accounting issues that arise in the appropriate literature, staying abreast of new pronouncements. Provide summary of guidance and its effect on financial reporting. Provide Controller and CFO with recommended implementation plan for the pronouncement. 
    • Owner of general ledger chart of accounts, accounting policies and guidelines for business. 
    • Management - Exemplify overall Corporate Accounting vision and General Accounting mission to team of professional accountants. Provide resources, coaching and support to staff as needed. Provide a positive environment that encourages and supports process improvement. 
    • Primary contact with external auditors; supervise staff preparation of audit workpapers, coordinate submission of workpapers and other PBC items, and respond to all auditor inquiries and requests.


    • Bachelor's degree in Accounting
    • 5-7 years of experience in the field
    • CPA preferred
    • Public accounting experience preferred
    • Not-for-profit accounting experience highly preferred
    • Strong computer and process analysis/problem solving/analytical skills
    • Strong leadership skills and team skills
