    The Joslin Diabetes Center, the preeminent diabetes center in the world affiliated with Harvard Medical School, is extending a search for a dynamic, energetic, bright, and entry-mid level Project Manager I who will report directly to and work with the Chief Medical Officer to help develop and implement new models of diabetes care. In this role, you will have the opportunity to have a significant exposure to and impact on diabetes care through a range of interesting and meaningful projects targeting primary care, specialty care and health system innovations.  You will help lead innovation and work cross-functionally with all levels within Joslin. 

    The ideal candidate will have a passion for improving care, an interest in health care delivery and system change and have a background in health care, public health or clinical research. We are looking for someone who is able to work independently, fit will within a dynamic and highly energetic team, multi-task with an attention to detail, have outstanding writing skills, and possess a true passion to make a difference in people’s lives.

    While in this role, the Project Manager provides project management and oversight for various research and clinical projects and activities.  Some of the tasks the Project Manager will be responsible for are: 

    • Under the direction of the Chief Medical Officer (CMO) participates in the identification and analysis of research and clinical initiatives to improve diabetes care.
    • Manage research studies through overseeing the work of research assistants (when hired), recruiting study candidates, coordinating data and communicating with all appropriate parties
    • Create data management systems and tracking programs to ensure all study tasks are completed in a timely fashion
    • Presents findings of analyses clearly and concisely to appropriate parties and provides recommendations and action plans for implementation, monitoring and control based on results of analysis
    • Assists the CMO in various areas such as meeting presentations and ad hoc committees
    • Communicating and coordinating with vendors to ensure timely and cost-appropriate procurement of meeting space, food and beverage services, audiovisual needs, onsite staffing and other onsite meeting needs. This includes securing CMO’s approval for all contracts
    • Organize multi-stakeholders meetings with health care organizations, state leaders and researchers at multiple institutions
    • Coordinating information and follow up activities with multiple organizations for implementing better care models for research evaluation
    • Provide periodic activity status updates for grantors, other investigators and executive leadership as requested
    • Conduct literature reviews pertinent to research needs and initiative aspects of manuscript development
    • Participate in the preparation of scientific publications and presentations of research data
    • Identify funding sources and assist in grant writing activities in the field of better diabetes care, system change and patient centered medical home and neighborhood.
    • Manage, prepare and oversee project budgets.


    • Bachelor’s Degree
    • Minimum two year of research experience working with multi-stakeholder groups, patient centered medical home initiatives and practice transformation efforts preferred
    • Advanced skills in Microsoft Office products.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, analytical skills, executive function, organization skills, ability to work independently. 
    • Ability to consistently perform detailed work to ensure accuracy in collecting and recording data.
