  • Overview

    The Project Manager independently manages the development, management and planning for the production of domestic and international, live and online education activities and care programs to ensure professional production and on-time delivery of programs. Project management responsibilities include working closely with faculty, internal stakeholders,  health care institutions, vendors and staff to ensure all activity deliverables are provided in the designated timeframe and within budget limitations. The position requires extensive collaboration, organizational, service and communication skills in order to successfully accomplish tasks interdepartmentally and externally. The ideal candidate will be internally motivated and adept at critical - and creative - thinking and independent problem solving.


    • Independently drive a variety of educational and care program projects (live, print, online interactive or static). Set and follow timelines, prioritize tasks, identify deadlines and clearly communicate priorities and objectives to faculty and staff, external vendors and supporters to determine the success of the projects (as measured satisfaction of client, quality of the outcomes impact and fiscal efficiency).
    • Work within budget parameters and closely monitor project spending on each project on a monthly basis.
    • Work closely with the program director(s) to finalize educational and care program agendas and content outline.
    • Work with clinic administration to recruit and confirm faculty availability to allow the projects not to interfere with patient load.
    • Work closely with faculty to ensure timely receipt of their content.
    • Manage all phases of online education projects, working with technology partners to understand all aspects of technology and reporting; working with faculty to assist them with preparation of their presentation and in recording education; and working with client on registration and reporting.
    • Select and negotiate contracts with hotels/facilities for live events to ensure timely and cost-appropriate procurement of meeting space, food and beverage services, audiovisual needs, and other onsite meeting needs.
    • Communicate with Fiscal Services team to ensure all internal and external vendor invoices are coded and processed in a timely and accurate manner.
    • Demonstrate proactive problem solving and remain solution-oriented.
    • Provide some administrative and project support to other team members as needed
    • Assume other duties as may be assigned by the Department Directors in support of department goals and objectives


    • A bachelor’s degree or the equivalent combination of education, training and experience from which comparable skills can be acquired.
    • 3 years of project management experience in a business, healthcare, or academic nonprofit environment having managed projects, programs, or events. or other relevant experience is desired.
    • Experience working with physicians is highly desirable. Knowledge of basic accounting desired.
    • Advanced skills in Microsoft Office products, including PowerPoint, Word and basic Excel is required.
    • In addition, experience working with custom software platforms and website content management systems is a plus.
    • Basic video editing skills
    • Excellent organizational and interpersonal communication skills
    • Demonstrated skills in analysis and judgment of complex situations with potential legal and financial ramifications
    • Ability to take initiative and manage multiple priorities / heavy workload at times
    • Outgoing and direct personality who enjoys responsibility and independence and who has demonstrated ability of establishing rapport and maintaining effective relationships with new and existing stakeholders
    • Skill in interacting with multiple levels of external contacts
    • Professional in appearance with the ability to interact with clients while representing Joslin in a professional manner
    • Ability to travel up to 10% of the time overall to be onsite at programs is desired
