  • Overview

    The Corporate Partnerships Officer (Philanthropy) is responsible for developing and maintaining a robust portfolio of corporations interested in supporting the wide range of engagement channels with the Office of Philanthropy. This position will work as a key member of the Event team to advance Joslin Diabetes Center’s mission to prevent, treat, and cure diabetes. 


    • Develop a strong working knowledge of the wide range of corporate engagement opportunities to support Joslin Diabetes Center in order to be seen as a resource to new and existing corporate partners.
    • Work collaboratively with Director, Corporate, Event & Affinity Philanthropy and larger Event team to secure sponsorships to support Joslin Diabetes Center’s core annual signature events; High Hopes Gala, A Taste of Ginger, Evening at the Pops and new Emerging Leaders initiative
    • Work with the Director, Corporate, Event & Affinity Philanthropy to solicit and engage both cause marketing and corporate engagement partners for Joslin Diabetes Center’s month of giving program, Joslin Moves Me.
    • Identify and engage potential cause marketing partners who may fall outside the criteria outlined within the Joslin Moves Me program to help expand Joslin’s growing corporate partnerships.
    • Develop a working knowledge of The Raiser’s Edge database in order to enter, maintain, and pull data relating to fundraising activities.
    • Be an active member of the Corporate/Event/Cause Marketing team, supporting signature and community events, cause marketing and Team Joslin serving as an ambassador for the organization representing all ways for companies to become involved with Joslin.


    • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience.
    • 2-4 years of frontline fundraising and/or sales experience; a strong background in corporate solicitation is desirable.
    • Strong interpersonal skills and excellent verbal and written communication skills.
    • Self-directed and self-starting attitude, comfortable with being out of the office most of the time, meeting prospective donors and sponsors.
    • Work independently and confidentially and be able to interact with individual and corporate donors, trustees, patients, and staff in a professional manner.
    • A knowledge of and comfort working with the corporate community. Knowledge of and contacts within the Boston market desirable.
    • Ability to initiate and organize work, establish priorities in a time-sensitive environment, and meet deadlines with attention to detail and quality.Working knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet, and database applications (preferably The Raisers Edge and Microsoft Office).
