The Beetham Eye Institute of the Joslin Diabetes Center is seeking to recruit an Ophthalmologist: Glaucoma Specialist
to provide strong glaucoma surgical expertise and expert clinical eye care for Beetham Eye Institute (BEI), Joslin Diabetes Center patients.

ThePatient Access Representative performs functions that enhance patient access and increase revenue to the clinic. The Senior Research Administrator, Post-Award (Research Administrator II) will, under the direction of the Director, Major Projects and Post Award Administration, manage a full sponsored research post-award portfolio including oversight and management of financial policy, compliance and reporting issues that arise during the life of the award.
Post-award responsibilities involve the administration of research projects to ensure they operate within financial limitations as well as their compliance with legal, sponsor and Center policies and procedures.
The Kulkarni laboratory studies the biology and function of pancreatic islets including insulin secreting beta cells and glucagon-secreting alpha cells. The lab has recently started to work on adult tissue-specific stem cells, particularly those stem cells that form the pancreatic islet cells. Current topics under investigation include generation of induced pluripotent stem cells from mouse models of type 1 and type 2 diabetes and humans with type 1 and type 2 diabetes. Under general direction, the Senior Research Administrator (Research Administrator II), provides Pre and Post award support to Joslin investigators for complex Clinical Research awards including federal grants and subcontracts, foundation grants and clinical trial agreements.
Pre-award responsibilities require supporting the preparation, review and processing of clinically-oriented grant applications and with an emphasis on industry sponsored clinical trials.
The Vitreoretinal Surgeon will provide strong vitreoretinal surgical expertise and expert diabetic eye care for Beetham Eye Institute, Joslin Diabetes Center patients.
In addition, this physician will participate in the operations of the Eye Research Clinical Trials program with a goal of maintaining and improving both recruitment and quality participation in clinical research.
